On Sheffield Avenue, in Lincoln Park, a tree fell today. It destroyed someone's car. After talking to the woman for a minute, she told me how unlucky she had been. She has her own garage where the vehicle is usually parked. However, today her bathroom remodelers needed to use the garage for their work and so she decided to park in the street. She chose this spot. Then the tree fell. Imagine deciding to park in one place and then, that decision, which usually requires no thought to make, ends up becoming the vehicle's doom. Such a sad chaotic happening for this sweet, unlucky lady. I'm sure her insurance will take care of it. Let's hope there's no "acts of god" clause.

Carl Sandburg High School Prom
On April 29th I took a trip out to the suburbs, Orland Park to be exact, to make some portraits for a group of lovely couples. With all luck on our side, the day turned out to be a wonderful summery day in spring. Here are a few of my favorites. Click the link at the bottom of this post to be taken to the entire gallery.
Prom Preview
The ladies show their garters in this summery photograph. There's a whole bunch of images coming soon. I'm waiting on a final payment from a couple couples before I can release the whole group of images. I hope you enjoy this one though!
Soaked But Still Standing
My brother Bret tried to run through Seal Pond at the Voorhies Memorial, but he immediately slipped and fell in. This is the aftermath. At least it was nice out. (Denver, CO - September 18th, 2010)

Brittiney's Beautiful Children (09/05/09)
A day spent running through the corn with Brittiney's kids. Ajna is a delight to photograph since he's really into the camera himself. (He takes some good pictures himself!) Arijah is wonderful too since he's so wide-eyed for the world and wants to explore everything. I hope you like the pictures. Note: These were already published on my Facebook, but I thought they might reach a wider audience here. I also spent a little more time editing them for this post.

Montrose Beach (09/27/09)
A collection of photographs from Montrose Beach. Brittiney and Courtney accompanied me that day and we enjoyed the beautiful early-fall weather. I think these pictures turned out really special. If you like them, please let me know in the comment below and perhaps consider purchasing a print to support my photography. If you're interested, please just ask me about print prices and sizes by sending me an email dane@danedeasy.com.
